What Is It?
The epididymis is a tightly coiled tube that stores sperm. The tube is on the top of each testicle. Sperm travel through this tube from the testicle to the vas deferens. The epididymis is also where sperm matures. This means that they are learning how to swim before entering the vas deferens.
An Example
Hank asked his health care provider where sperm learn how to move. The provider shared that sperm learn how to move or “swim” in the epididymis. This is why some people say it is like “swim camp” for the sperm.
